The operating
system for
veteran housing.

The Problem

The gap isn't funding. It's infrastructure.

$900M in HUD-VASH vouchers expire unused every year while 35,000+ veterans sleep homeless. The legacy software running veteran housing organizations was built before the cloud and hasn't shipped meaningful features in over a decade. Case managers spend 40% of their day on paperwork instead of veterans.

What We're Building

A six-module SaaS, already operating.

Each module maps to a specific veteran housing workflow. Built multi-tenant with row-level security from day one.

Case Management
Veteran intake, status tracking, caseload views for case managers and supervisors.
HUD-VASH Compliance
Auto-generated reports, voucher tracking, audit logs for federal reporting.
Property Management
Unit availability, landlord communications, inspection scheduling.
Investor Reporting
LP dashboards, IRR tracking, impact metrics for capital partners.
AI Agents
Six purpose-built agents: Intake, Reporting, Outreach, Document, Compliance, Insights.
Multi-Tenant Platform
Row-level security, role-based access, tenant isolation built for federal-grade compliance.
Why Now

Three things just changed.

The reason VetConnect OS is buildable in 2026 and wasn't in 2020.

30×
Cheaper AI
LLM costs collapsed in 2024. AI-assisted case management is finally margin-positive at SaaS pricing levels veteran-serving orgs can actually afford.
+23%
HUD-VASH Budget
Federal veteran-housing funding grew in FY2026. New programs are launching that need software, opening procurement budgets for tools like ours.
25 yrs
Legacy Software Age
HMIS vendors (Bowman, ClientTrack) haven't shipped meaningful features in a decade. The bar to win is unusually low.
Why Me

I'm not a tech founder who picked veterans as a market. I'm a veteran-services operator who built the tool I needed.

Darryl Barnes
Founder & CEO
"I did not study this problem. I lived it. And I refused to accept that no solution existed."

Darryl Barnes is a service-disabled U.S. Army veteran who served through two combat deployments. After service, he came home with PTSD, struggled with depression, and at one point experienced homelessness himself. He knows firsthand what it feels like to have served your country and have nowhere to go.

Watching the same story repeat — veterans who sacrificed everything coming home to a system that was supposed to serve them — he built three things in this space to make a tangible difference:

  • VCG Fund I — Delaware LP, Reg D 506(c), $10M target, NAV Fund Services administered. Acquires multifamily for veteran housing. First customer of VetConnect OS.
  • VCG Foundation — Veteran housing nonprofit, fiscally sponsored under Veterans Collaborative. Serves veterans in Mobile, AL. Design partner.
  • VetConnect OS — The SaaS. Built to operate the fund's properties and the foundation's caseload. Now ready to license to other operators.
